Tech for managing an online thrift store

We've developed a computer-vision aided application for an online thrift store, in response to their challenging, manual-intensive labour. The goal of the application was to provide a desktop assistant for the warehouse workers, speeding up the process of sorting out clothes into various categories, taking pictures, editing them and managing the online Shopify store database.

Working with Salvaged, we've seeked to lessen the load of processing hundreds of clothing items weekly. The issues in this area arise when a human operator needs to identify and sort clothes, figuring out what can be sold and at what price, prepare them for selling by photographing, editing and uploading articles to the website, as well as managing a large amount of inventory in the warehouse. This can quickly become overwhelming and repetitive. So we've worked on a concept app for streamlining this process, from garment sorting using computer vision to uploading and managing inventory on Shopify, as well as a plan to incorporate robotics into the physical space of the warehouse.
